A Spring Scandal Book Three of the Devereaux Manor Mystery Series edition by Tracey Smith Romance eBooks Reviews
Wow! What a fabulous conclusion to the series! This book had so many twists and turns, and I didn't see any of them coming! It is challenging to include 3 different couples in one book, but the author did a good job of giving everyone equal attention. I already know that I love Aaron and Maggie, and book 2 ended with Kate and Jason's relationship finally getting off the ground. Book 2 also brought Andi's former boyfriend D?? and while we knew their relationship ended badly, we didn't have many details. Their history was finally revealed, and I was surprised to learn about some aspects of their past. It was an interesting twist, but I think it was a good move because neither one is really to blame. I was also surprised by the direction of Kate and Jason's story, but it was a good twist! Aaron and Maggie were amazing as always, but I do wish that there had been a few more scenes with them at the end instead of things appearing "off-screen". I also would have liked one more chapter before the epilogue, but that's just me being greedy )
I did really enjoy how the story turned out. The twists kept me on my toes, and they made the book that much more engaging. The romances were spot on, and I just loved all of the characters. I believe this is the final story, but I would love even more from these characters!
**I was lucky enough to receive an ARC in exchange for an honest review, but all opinions are my own.
4.5 stars
A Spring Scandal is the third book in the Devereaux Manor Mystery series and I do believe that it is the final instalment. In order to understand the characters and the mystery in its entirety you do need to read A Summer Romance and A Winter Wedding first.
I've enjoyed this series from the very beginning but I have to admit that I think I liked A Spring Scandal the best out of all three books. It seemed to me that Smith really found her groove with the plot and it was a little more intense with a lot of twists and turns.
Maggie and Aaron were still going strong and Kate and Jason's story continued but Andi and Dylan got their story as well. I really, really enjoyed Andi and Dylan's story. There is just something about a second chance romance that I am a sucker for. In fact, I enjoyed their story so much that I was wishing for a little bit more. It could have been an entire book on its own and still held my interest. The story wove between the three different relationships and although many things happened to all of the characters I was still drawn to Andi and Dylan the most.
There was enough romance to satisfy the hopeless romantic in all of us but the mystery really geared up and took front and centre. This instalment definitely had the most twists and danger with the mystery eventually being solved. Let me tell you...it was not an easy one to figure out and I pride myself in figuring things out before the reveal. I had my suspicions and I was correct in some of them but way off the mark with others. It was really complex and I certainly appreciated that in this story. I often gauge a book by how easily I can figure it out. The harder it is, the better the book.
This series has been a pleasure to read and I feel that it has a little something for everyone. There was plenty of danger and intrigue as well as romance and steam. I'm almost sad to see it end. After following this series from the beginning, the characters seem like family and Devereaux Manor feels like home!
A Spring Scandal is the third and final book in the Devereaux Manor Series, I was gifted an arc of the book to read for Gemma Reads Too Much.
I love a good murder mystery but for some reason the mystery part of this series always sneaks up on me. I get so consumed by the relationship and love that I sort of forget that there is the intrigue and underlying mystery always there hiding in the background. And then BAM something happens and I’m completely consumed trying to figure out what the hell is going on and who is at the bottom of it all.
A Spring Scandal completely smashed through the book funk I have been in for the past few days. Like a breath of mysterious air Tracey Smiths writing engrossed me and had me guessing who the murderer was and what their motive was.
I have always loved that this series keeps me on my toes I never expect the dramatic action that happens and I’m always on the edge of my seat from start to finish.
I have to say I’m proud to admit that I did figure out who had done some of the stuff and a bit of a victory dance did happen when that person was revealed.
I know this review is a tad vague but I’m not prepared to give out any spoilers so trust me read this book and all will be revealed.
This series is like Murder She Wrote crossed with Poirot crossed with Miss Marple…. So basically all of the best oldschool murder mysteries combined into a lust and sex filled romance and honestly I have loved all 3 books.
Im so sad that this is the final book but I loved the pace the author created while the final pieces of the puzzle were revealed.
This was a great book and a fantastic series and I look forward to reading more books by this very talented author.
A Spring Scandal gets 4.5 stars from me.
I,am so happy for this perfect conclusion to the series, although the mania of the main antagonist was streching a little. Overall it was really worth the wait!
She needs to write more. I already finished all of her books. Ready for what's coming next!!!!!! Come on Tracey.
An easy reading book with lots of suspense/drama. This book was hard for me to put away.
